"account": "HONG KONG activist Joshua Wong, a prominent figure in the city's pro-democracy movement, is scheduled to be sentenced on Thursday for allegedly colluding with foreign entities. The verdict could result in a life prison term under Hong Kong's national security law. At 30 years old, Wong joined a group of young activists whose protest efforts were effectively outlawed by Beijing's 2020 security legislation. In court, High Judge William Tam is expected to deliver the sentence for Wong's conviction for foreign collusion at 9:30 AM Malaysian time. The alleged conspiracy took place between July 1 and November 23, 2020. Wong is also currently serving a sentence for a previous national security charge of conspiracy to commit subversion, stemming from his involvement in an unofficial primary election in 2020. The activists were accused of plotting to manipulate the legislature to block government budgets and force Hong Kong's leader to resign, a strategy authorities deemed subversive.",
