"summary": "Officials from the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) raided an illegal refinery in Ogere-Remo, Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State, on Wednesday. According to Daily Trust and Daily Post Nigeria, the well-fenced facility occupies more than three hectares of land and is linked to the Chinese. NMDPRA officials sealed the site during the inspection.\n\nNMDPRA State Coordinator Dr. Atilola Akinyemi stated that the facility is operating without any permit from a regulatory authority and is not a refinery by any standard. Punch Nigeria reported that the site contained an underground storage tank with a capacity exceeding 90,000 litres.\n\nDaily Trust and Daily Post Nigeria noted that the site included underground heating systems, water hydrants for cooling, silos for separation, and locally fabricated tanks. Investigators observed underground tanks believed to be used for processing sludge oil and substances suspected to be Automotive Gas Oil (diesel).",
