"account": "Cynthia Erivo is set to portray Afeni Shakur, the mother of the late rapper Tupac Shakur, in a forthcoming Snoop Dogg biopic. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed this casting decision. Jonathan Daviss will take on the role of Snoop Dogg, while Camron Jones will play Tupac in the film. Real-life counterparts of the actors were labelmates at Death Row Records and collaborated on songs such as \"2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted\" and \"Wanted Dead Or Alive.\"\n\nDirector Craig Brewer, known for his work on music biopics, is helming the project. Brewer penned the latest script draft, succeeding Joe Robert Cole. The script remains undisclosed, leaving room for speculation about its focus. Will it delve into Snoop's entrepreneurial ventures and business empire, or explore his friendship with Martha Stewart? The film will undoubtedly include music from the rapper's vast discography. Snoop Dogg and Death Row Pictures President Sara Ramaker are also serving as producers.\n\nThe biopic aims to be the \"definitive biopic\" of the entertainment mogul and icon. Afeni Shakur, who passed away in 2016, was a prominent member of the Black Panther Party, whose activism influenced her son. In a 2023 docuseries, Tupac reflected on his mother's teachings, saying, \"My mother taught me to analyze society and not be quiet if there's something on my mind speak it.\" Their relationship inspired Tupac's 1995 hit \"Dear Mama,\" a song expressing gratitude for his mother's guidance amidst their challenging upbringing in poverty.",
