"summary": "The defense ministries of Saudi Arabia and Syria signed a cooperation agreement on Wednesday, according to the Saudi news agency SPA. The signing took place in Riyadh during a visit by Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, who met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Ajel English reports that during the meeting, the Crown Prince stressed the necessity of easing regional tensions.\n\nThe agreement comes as Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthi group continues missile and drone attacks against Saudi Arabia. While specific details of the agreement have not been disclosed, Middle East Eye notes that Reuters reported last month that Syria was weighing the possibility of providing military assistance to the kingdom amid its escalating war against the Houthis.",
