"account": "Cynthia Erivo, known for her role as Elphaba in the film adaptation of Wicked, is set to portray Afeni Shakur in the upcoming Snoop Dogg biopic titled Snoop. Filming for the movie commenced in September 2026, with Jonathan Daviss taking on the role of a younger Snoop Dogg. It is reported that Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg first crossed paths during the 1993 movie Poetic Justice, later collaborating on tracks for Tupac's album All Eyez on Me. Erivo recently shared her approach to selecting roles, stating, \"I feel like I have an internal metronome that tells me when something is right for me and when something is not. I say no to a lot of things.\" Besides being Tupac's mother, Afeni Shakur was a member of the Black Panther Party and an activist. Following her son's death in 1996, she established the Georgia-based Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation for young artists and founded Amaru Entertainment to release her son's unreleased music. The film is slated for release on August 6, 2027.",
