"account": "Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku announced on November 4 that the GFA lost a potential sponsorship deal worth over $5 million annually due to restrictions imposed by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) on alcohol companies sponsoring sports. The deal was proposed by Guinness Ghana Limited, who had approached the GFA with plans for a substantial investment in the Ghana Premier League. Despite multiple meetings to secure the agreement, the FDA ultimately rejected the partnership. Okraku believes these restrictions are hindering sports organizations' ability to attract significant private-sector investment during a period when Ghanaian football requires stronger financial backing. He urged Parliament to remove the provision that permits the FDA to approve or reject such sponsorship agreements involving alcoholic beverage companies, stating it would open doors for the Ghana Premier League and other sporting events to secure more corporate sponsorship.",
