"account": "US Vice President JD Vance attributed the Republican Party's significant losses in the midterm elections to three main factors: the United States' relationship with Israel, the ongoing war with Iran, and the rising cost of living and inflation. In an X/Twitter post, Vance stated that the real reason for their defeat was clear to almost everyone. He cited a pollster who revealed that voters who had abandoned Republicans were primarily seeking an end to the war, addressing economic concerns such as inflation, emphasizing \"America First,\" and changing the relationship with Israel. Vance also noted that despite optimism among his team, the data pointed to the possibility of the Republicans doing better than anticipated but warned that many Trump and Vance 2024 voters were upset and planning to vote for the opposition. He acknowledged that the team had shown up for voting but predicted that turnout might not translate into support for Republicans. The main issue, according to Vance, was not turnout but rather the disappointment of many who voted for Trump and Vance in 2024 voting for Democrats in 2026.",
"summary": "\"If you'd like to argue [the war] was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost. That's at least honest,\" Vance wrote.",
