On Tuesday morning, the officer reported for duty at Soko Mjinga Police Station, but did not return after leaving at around 11:40 a.m., prompting a search by colleagues. Found dead near Kinale Forest, approximately 800 meters from his station, the officer was unarmed except for his AK-47 rifle lying beside him.
