"account": "Former tennis star Rafael Nadal has been appointed as a director of Real Madrid. This was confirmed by the club's board during a meeting on Wednesday, which agreed to submit Nadal's appointment to a vote by the general assembly of delegate members. Nadal, renowned for his 22 grand slam singles titles and a record 14 French Open crowns, announced his retirement from the sport in 2024. Real Madrid praised Nadal as \"one of the greatest legends in the history of sport and one of the most admired and recognized Spanish athletes in the world\". They expressed their pride in Nadal joining their board of directors, highlighting his exceptional track record, dedication, and the values he embodies both on and off the court. Nadal, who has held honorary membership of Real Madrid for years, has consistently expressed his love for the club, despite being a fan of Real Madrid despite his uncle having played for Barcelona. He was a guest of honor at the 2022 Champions League final when Real Madrid won their 14th Champions League title. Nadal thanked President Florentino Pérez and the board for this opportunity to join the Real Madrid board of directors, expressing his excitement to learn and contribute to the club's future.",
