"account": "LONDON: Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta has been banned for three matches following a failed appeal against his red card during Saturday's 2-0 Premier League loss to Tottenham. The 29-year-old Frenchman was initially given a yellow card by referee Michael Oliver, but it was upgraded to red after a review by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR). The red card came in the 13th minute of the match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, following a challenge on Micky van de Ven, Tottenham's captain.\n\nThe Football Association's statement confirmed that an independent regulatory commission dismissed claims of both wrongful dismissal and excessive punishment in relation to Mateta's red card. Consequently, Mateta will be suspended for Crystal Palace's upcoming league match against Liverpool on Sunday, along with the matches against Coventry and Hull later in the month.",
