"account": "New Democrat Abdul El-Sayed has been projected as Michigan's Senate-elect, expressing joy and pride at becoming the first Muslim to serve in the United States Senate. The 42-year-old Egyptian-American defeated former Republican Representative Mike Rogers in the midterm election. In a video message to supporters, El-Sayed highlighted his use of the Islamic phrase \"Inshallah\" during the campaign, and remarked, \"Today, we can turn that Inshallah into Alhamdulillah.\" Born in Egypt, El-Sayed has been a public health official and made history as the first Muslim elected to the Senate, following a competitive Democratic primary. His victory secures the seat left by retiring Democratic Senator Gary Peters and marks a significant milestone for Muslim representation in American politics.",
