"summary": "The RMB Ultra-trail Cape Town (RMB UTCT) is set to launch a new award, the RMB Pride of Africa Award, to recognise and support the continent's best trail-running talent. The award will be given to the first African man and first African woman to cross the finish line in the UT100 race, with each winner receiving R25,000 in prize money and an exquisite trophy designed by South African artist Robbie Rorich. The award aims to celebrate exceptional African trail-running talent and provide additional incentives for athletes to compete on the world stage. The RMB UTCT, one of the World Trail Majors, is known for its demanding course across Table Mountain and Karbonkelberg, featuring almost 5,000m of elevation gain. The award comes at a crucial time for African trail running, as Cape Town prepares to host the prestigious World Athletics World Mountain and Trail Running Championships in October 2027. Two South African athletes, Sinovuyo Ngcobo and Tsielo Tsanyane, who have benefited from the RMB's LIV2Run development programme, will be competing in the race, demonstrating the impact of investment in local talent.",
