"summary": "Canada has announced it will block Russia from competing in the upcoming World Junior Hockey Championship in Alberta, despite a court ruling ordering Russia's reinstatement to international hockey. Prime Minister Mark Carney stated that Russia will not be present at the event, following the Court of Arbitration for Sport's (CAS) Oct. 30 ruling that overturned Russia's exclusion from international hockey. The Canadian government will use its authority under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act to prevent Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials from entering the country to compete under their national symbols, regardless of the CAS ruling. The government's stance remains firm as Russia continues its war against Ukraine, with support from Belarus, according to a government statement.",
