"account": "In the 2026 US Midterm Elections, citizens make their verdict on President Donald Trump's second term as polls start closing across various states. The voting commenced at 6 pm Eastern Time (23:00 GMT) and concluded in different waves, beginning in Indiana and Kentucky. The elections encompass all 435 House seats, 35 Senate seats, and 36 gubernatorial positions. Currently, Republicans hold the majority in both the House and Senate.\n\nFor Democrats to seize control of the House, they must win at least three seats, whereas a net gain of four seats is required to secure the Senate. Reports indicate that the Democrats face a more challenging path due to Republican-led redistricting, which altered district boundaries.\n\nA majority of polled voters, around 75%, expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of the economy, labeling it as 'not so good' or 'poor'. Fuel prices have also soared to unprecedented levels, with GasBuddy reporting that the US average for petrol stands at $4.12 a gallon and $6.28 a gallon for diesel.\n\nThe competition is intense in several key House races, including Florida's 25th District (Democratic candidate Jared Moskowitz versus Republican Scott Singer), North Carolina's 1st District (Don Davis versus an incumbent), and Texas' 15th District (Monica De La Cruz versus Bobby Pulido). Throughout the day, the live blog will be updated with the most important news from the voting process, which is widely regarded as a critical assessment of Trump's presidency.",
