"account": "Dame Judi Dench, the actress who played M in eight James Bond films spanning two decades, has revealed that Daniel Craig was the driving force behind the decision to kill off her character in the 2012 film Skyfall. The Oscar-winning actress shared this tidbit in her new memoir \"Is It Too Late to Make a Run For It?\" Dench recounted a meeting with director Sam Mendes and others at a restaurant, where they explained the plot and the grim fate that awaited her beloved M. She playfully attributed her demise to her own actions, stating, \"My own fault, I suppose.\"\n\nDench had long been yearning for a change from her desk-bound existence, even going as far as begging the production team to let her out. Her wish finally came true when she was cast in GoldenEye, but tragedy struck when she was \"shot\" in the very film that allowed her to break free. She then identified Daniel Craig as the one responsible for her demise. However, M did make a surprise appearance in the form of a posthumous cameo in the 2015 film SPECTRE.\n\nThe veteran actress also shared that Tomorrow Never Dies was the most challenging Bond film to produce, citing the constant influx of rewrites and last-minute changes as the primary source of her stress. New Bond studio Amazon MGM Studios is now in the midst of scouting for the next actor to portray James Bond, with Callum Turner, Jack Lowden, and Josh O'Connor reportedly leading the pack.",
