"account": "The Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG) has pledged to ensure that the upcoming City of Johannesburg administration adheres to the recently signed agreement between the city and the South African Municipal Workers' Union (SAMWU). The agreement aims to address longstanding salary disparities stemming from a two-tiered salary structure, which has caused some municipal workers to be paid on a Grade 8 scale while senior officials are on a Grade 10 scale.\n\nJacob Mamabolo, the MEC for Gauteng Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA), stated that the provincial government, alongside the national government, will collaborate with the incoming administration to maintain continuity and prevent any instability in the city. Mamabolo emphasized that bringing affected employees onto the Grade 10 scale is vital for enhancing staff morale, governance, and service delivery. He highlighted that such a move is crucial for overall performance, staff satisfaction, and the city's output, ultimately contributing to the growth of the economy and elevating the city's status in terms of excellent service delivery.",
