"summary": "The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) branch at Gombe State University has rejected salary arrears paid to its members and has threatened to embark on a fresh strike, according to Punch Nigeria.\n\nIn a separate development, the ASUU leadership for the North-East geopolitical zone has expressed support for the ongoing industrial action at Taraba State University in Jalingo. As reported by Daily Post Nigeria, the union's Yola Zone delegation visited the campus on Tuesday to urge Governor Agbu Kefas to implement the 2025 Federal Government/ASUU agreement and pay all outstanding arrears. The union accused the Taraba State government of breaching legitimate agreements and disregarding the welfare of academic staff.\n\nAdditionally, Punch reports that the ASUU branch at the University of Cross River State has resumed an indefinite strike due to two months of unpaid salaries and other issues.",
