"account": "The government of Punjab has modified the official names of various public educational establishments, with a notable update concerning a women's university in Bahawalpur. The Government Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur is now officially called Government Sadiq College, Bahawalpur, following the removal of the term “University” from its name. This alteration was announced in a notification issued by the Higher Education Department of Punjab on October 23, 2026. The revision is in accordance with the Public Sector Universities (Amendment) Act, 2026, which the Punjab government published in the Punjab Gazette (Extraordinary) on May 6, 2026. The department instructed universities to implement the necessary changes in line with the amended law. It clarified that the modification pertains solely to the institution's official name, with its mandate and functions in higher education remaining unchanged.",
