"summary": "French judges have opened a judicial investigation into a war crimes complaint regarding an Israeli strike on a residential building in Lebanon in 2024. According to lawyer Clemence Bectarte, the filing was made as a civil party by French-Lebanese artist Ali Cherri, whose parents were killed in the Beirut strike, alongside the International Federation for Human Rights.\n\nThe New Straits Times reports that the filing prompted the appointment of two investigating judges from the crimes against humanity unit of the Paris Judicial Court.",
