"summary": "The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is currently probing a Facebook account under the name Vikke Lee for allegedly posting content that insults the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah. The MCMC stated that the content is suspected of containing highly offensive material related to race, religion, and royalty (3R), targeting the Selangor ruler. A statement was recorded at the Sri Petaling police station, and a mobile phone and SIM card were seized as part of the investigation. MCMC emphasized the seriousness of disseminating false information and offensive content targeting the royal institution, particularly materials that could threaten social harmony. The case is being investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (Act 588), with offenders facing a maximum fine of RM500,000, imprisonment of up to 2 years, or both. MCMC also cautioned the public to use social media responsibly and refrain from creating or sharing content that violates the law.",
