"account": "Meta's Meta Quest 2 and Quest Pro VR headsets are set to bid farewell to software support in March 2027, but users can take heart in the fact that security updates will linger until the end of 2027. The announcement was made on Meta's developer blog, which also revealed that the Quest 2 has been enjoying a longer support period - nearly seven years since its launch in 2020, whereas the Quest Pro's support spanned just over five years, ending in October 2022.\n\nDespite the end of software updates, Meta reassures users that their headsets will still be able to enjoy compatible games, multiplayer cross-play, and access to PC VR through Meta Quest Link. Developers are still able to update existing games, but must provide players with a six-month notice before discontinuing support.\n\nSo, while Meta is winding down software support for the Meta Quest 2 and Quest Pro, owners of these devices can still expect a significant amount of useful life from their headsets.",
