"account": "Iran announced a two-day plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and resume nuclear talks with the United States, following US missile strikes on Iranian targets in the strategic waterway. The US officially confirmed the strikes, carried out with surface-to-air missiles against Iranian assets, as the country prepares for its crucial midterm elections. Iranian state television reported explosions on Qeshm Island, prompting concern over the escalating tensions. US President Donald Trump recently referred to the elections as the most important in the nation's history. Midterm polling stations across the United States will begin opening around 10pm AEST on the east coast, as Americans cast their votes in what promises to be a closely contested race.",
