"summary": "The Houston Astros have exercised their club option on infielder Isaac Paredes, ensuring the 27-year-old third baseman remains with the team for the 2027 season. Paredes, who posted a career-best .262 batting average and .360 on-base percentage in 2026, delivered another strong season with 25 home runs and 94 RBIs. Despite a slow start, his performance solidified his status as a key player for Houston. Paredes' 2027 contract is valued at $13.35 million, and he will become a free agent following the season.",
