"summary": "The World Bank-assisted HOPE Governance Programme has trained 388 government officials across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to improve public financial management, particularly in aligning budgets for primary healthcare and basic education. The month-long capacity-building workshop focused on practical application of the National Chart of Accounts and programme-based budgeting, while addressing planning, costing, and budget implementation gaps. The training, which aims to support states in preparing their 2027 fiscal proposals, is expected to conclude on November 4, 2026, with the goal of achieving the programme’s Disbursement-Linked Indicator 2.",
