"account": "CNN's Anderson Cooper grilled Rep. Haley Stevens on Sunday night, demanding an explanation for her sudden endorsement of Republican Mike Rogers for Michigan's U.S. Senate seat. The contentious 15-minute debate unfolded ahead of the midterm elections, following Stevens' decision to break away from her party and support Rogers over Democrat Abdul El-Sayed. Cooper's questions centered on why she reversed her endorsement, which came just hours after she reportedly promised fellow Democrats she wouldn't abandon their nominee. Rep. Debbie Dingell had claimed Stevens had assured her on Saturday night that she wouldn't endorse Rogers, but Cooper pressed her to provide details about the timing of her decision. Stevens stated she had spent time alone contemplating her choice but contested the midnight meeting with Dingell. Cooper also brought up an August social media post in which Stevens had warned that Rogers would be a \"rubber stamp\" for President Donald Trump's agenda. Cooper expressed frustration with Stevens' evasiveness, asserting that she wasn't directly addressing his questions. Stevens accused Cooper of editorializing and refused to confirm Dingell's account of their conversation. Rep. Dingell described the interview as \"one of the most painful\" she had ever experienced, emphasizing her concern for Stevens throughout the previous week.",
