"account": "The Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy (NSP) recently elected Dr Usman Ahmed as its new National President during the Society's Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Kano State. The week-long conference from 25 to 31 October 2026 gathered over 1,000 physiotherapists, researchers, academics, students, and healthcare stakeholders from across Nigeria, focusing on professional advancement and unity. In his new role, Ahmed will provide strategic leadership, manage the National Executive Council, and represent the profession in various engagements. This election comes at a crucial time, as physiotherapy plays an increasingly vital role in healthcare delivery for rehabilitation, chronic disease management, and disability prevention in Nigeria. The newly formed National Executive Council includes ten other officers, each taking on specific responsibilities. The conference also featured clinical plenaries, workshops, and scientific sessions on cutting-edge rehabilitation practices, along with the inaugural Early Career Physiotherapists Congress and Seminar, aimed at supporting newcomers in the field.",
