"account": "Michigan Democrat Haley Stevens publicly endorsed Republican candidate Mike Rogers over her party's Senate nominee, Abdul El-Sayed, on Sunday, 1 November. This occurred just days before the US midterm elections on Tuesday, 3 November. Stevens criticized her party's nominee in a video posted on X, stating that she didn't belong in El-Sayed's campaign and that the Democratic nominee's values were wrong. El-Sayed had previously dropped Stevens from a joint appearance scheduled for the same day. El-Sayed and Stevens had a strained relationship, stemming from a bitter primary and disagreements over issues such as Israel. Stevens, who has worked on Democratic campaigns including those of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, served in the Obama administration, and has held various roles within the House of Representatives, including chairing the Research and Technology Subcommittee and founding the Women in STEM Caucus. Her endorsement of Rogers marks a significant shift in her political career.",
