"summary": "The Ghana Education Service (GES) has made an announcement cancelling the two-day mid-term break that was originally scheduled for basic schools on November 5 and 6, 2026. This decision comes in response to the need to make up for the instructional time lost during recent industrial action. According to a public notice from GES Management, all basic schools are expected to remain open and continue with their regular academic activities on both days. Consequently, pupils and teachers will not observe the scheduled break and are required to report to school as usual on Thursday, November 5, and Friday, November 6. The GES has urged all stakeholders to take note of this change and proceed accordingly. This decision was signed off by Daniel Fenyi, a representative of the Ghana Education Service (GES).",
