"account": "A 34-year-old welder, Herwan Abdul Rani, was sentenced to six years in prison and two strokes of the rotan for raping a Form Two student in a forested area. The incident occurred in Tangkak last month, where the victim and the accused had reportedly known each other for about a month. The girl's mother had filed a police report claiming her daughter had been raped by someone she knew. The court also ordered Herwan to be under police supervision for a year following his prison term. The offence, under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code, carries a maximum jail term of 20 years and whipping upon conviction. The girl had claimed she was going to attend a silat lesson when she was found in the forested area the next morning, emerging from an oil palm plantation. She told her mother that she had been raped.",
