"account": "Sweden's Andreas Almgren emerged victorious in the 2022 New York City Marathon, completing the race in an impressive 2 hours, 6 minutes, and 1 second. The 31-year-old athlete, who recently set a European half-marathon record in Copenhagen, showcased his prowess during the final mile to claim the win over Italian competitor Yemaneberhan Crippa. Kenyan runner Sheila Chepkirui secured the women's race title for the second consecutive year, outpacing last year's winner Hellen Obiri, who finished third. American Jessica McClain took second place in the women's competition, while Hellen Obiri secured the third position. The race marked the 50th anniversary of the current format of the NYC Marathon, which has evolved from a Central Park-only event in its inaugural year in 1970 to a city-wide affair. Notably, Swiss wheelchair athlete Catherine Debrunner claimed her second New York wheelchair victory in a time of 1 hour, 40 minutes, and 2 seconds, while her compatriot Marcel Hug secured his eighth wheelchair title, edging out American Daniel Romanchuk in a sprint finish.",
