"account": "Nigerian troops, reinforced by aerial assistance, thwarted overnight assaults by Islamist militants in the northeastern Nigerian states of Borno and Yobe, resulting in the deaths of 48 insurgents, according to the military. The attacks, allegedly carried out by Boko Haram and its splinter faction, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), targeted military installations in Bitta, Borno, and a training academy in Buni Yadi, Yobe. Despite prolonged military efforts to curb the 17-year insurgency in Nigeria's northeast, the frequency of such assaults has intensified in recent days.\n\nCaptain Mohammed Goni, the military spokesperson, disclosed that the troops repelled the Boko Haram and ISWAP assaults in Bitta, subsequently launching a counter-offensive against ISWAP fighters who had launched an attack on the military training school in Buni Yadi. The ongoing conflict persisted into the early hours of Friday. The military reported that one soldier was killed during the operations, and two others sustained minor injuries, receiving medical attention.",
