"account": "The recent episode of \"Saturday Night Live\" sparked controversy as co-host Michael Che made a joke about Israel's ongoing conflict and the deaths it has caused. In the \"Weekend Update\" segment, Che quipped that \"this week, a record number of people voted in Israel's election — which is great to see, regardless of if you’re on the right side, or the left side, or the genocide.\" This remark left his co-host, Colin Jost, stunned, with his jaw dropping to the floor in disbelief. The comment came after Che had previously joked about Senator Ted Cruz's claims that supporting Democratic nominee Abdul El-Sayed would result in \"Americans dying.\" While the joke was met with gasps and shock, it also marked one of the few times \"Saturday Night Live\" has addressed the contentious issue.",
