"summary": "Ghana's Amadu Mohammed narrowly missed out on the African featherweight title at the 2026 IBA Africa Elite Men's and Women's Boxing Championships in Kinshasa, DR Congo. Despite winning bronze at the Commonwealth Games, Mohammed was defeated by Zambian Mwengo Mwale in a 3-2 split decision. The bout, which took place on Saturday, marked the final of the championships. Mohammed received a cut during his semi-final match, but Mwengo avenged his previous loss to Amadu in Accra African Games. This victory marked Zambia's third gold medal, following wins by Albert Ngulube and Gerald \"Boyka\" Kabinda. Ghana secured its second medal of the event, with Charles Kwarteng taking home bronze, while Catherine Mwape claimed silver in the women's division.",
