"account": "Geoffrey Richmond, the former chairman of Bradford City, has passed away at the age of 85. The club announced his death on Sunday, noting that he played a crucial role in the Bantams' promotion to the Premier League in 1999, which had not occurred in 77 years. Richmond also oversaw the redevelopment of Valley Parade ground during his tenure as chairman from 1994 to 2002. The club expressed its condolences to Richmond's family and friends during this difficult time. Born in Leeds, Richmond previously served as chairman of Scarborough. He took over at Valley Parade in 1994, leading the club to promotion to the First Division two years later after winning a play-off final at Wembley. The club secured promotion to the Premier League in 1999, following a memorable win against Liverpool in a crucial match. However, the club was relegated the following year due to financial struggles. Richmond left the position in 2002 amidst the club's financial turmoil. Football reporter Alan Biggs remembered Richmond as a larger-than-life figure, both charismatic and controversial. The Leeds-based New Rover Cricket Club also remembered Richmond as a significant figure in its history, highlighting his contributions both on and off the field.",
