"account": "Rabbi Dov Lando is facing criticism for his stance against haredi IDF service. According to Halacha, there are exceptions to certain laws when they pertain to saving or prolonging a life. Israel, being a country constantly facing an existential threat, has approximately 10 million lives at risk. This has led to some haredi young men having to choose between their parents' disapproval and Lando's opposition to military service. Many parents acquiesce to Lando's rulings to maintain family harmony, while soldiers who identify as religious Zionist have no problem combining Torah study with military service. The question arises: is Rabbi Lando going against the doctrines of the Slobodke Yeshiva he co-chairs? Ignoring call-up notices is considered unethical and in violation of Halacha. If Lando were to suddenly instruct the ultra-Orthodox community to avoid using mobile phones and personal computers, many would likely rebel. Perhaps Lando has an answer to this dilemma.",
