"account": "Tshepiso Tau, 34, received a life sentence for raping a 16-year-old girl in North West, South Africa. The incident took place on February 12, 2022, according to the South African Police Service (Saps). The court additionally prohibited Tau from possessing firearms and ordered his name to be registered in the National Sexual Offences Register. The girl attended a cultural dance festival at Madiba Makgabana Village with friends, during which she was left alone. Tau offered to take her home because she was afraid to walk by herself, but this proved to be a trap. He dragged her into the bushes and raped her. The victim informed her mother about the assault, and her family reported the incident to the police. North West Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Arthur Peter Adams, praised the officials who contributed to the successful prosecution, including Detective Constable Itumeleng Tshegetso and Advocate Ofentse Diseko.",
