"account": "In a step count comparison between the Apple Watch Series 12 and the Fitbit Edge, both devices came remarkably close to accurately counting the steps taken during three separate walks of 8,270, 8,293 and 8,199 steps respectively. The Apple Watch Series 12 overcounted by just 23 steps, while the Fitbit Edge missed 71 steps, a margin that amounts to only 50-70 steps, considered spot on by the author. Both trackers use an internal accelerometer to measure arm swings and calculate steps, regardless of which wrist they're worn on or any activity like holding an object. While the Apple Watch Series 12 offers more extensive smartwatch features, the Fitbit Edge stands as a more basic fitness tracker. Given the extremely small difference in step counting accuracy, the decision between the two would hinge on the user's preference for a smartwatch or a more straightforward fitness tracker.",
