The suspects were apprehended on Saturday evening following a rapid operation by officers from Starehe Sub-County, who intervened after the alleged thefts took place during the gathering. A subsequent search of the suspects resulted in the recovery of eight mobile phones believed to have been pilfered from rally-goers. The National Police Service confirmed that the suspects have been placed in custody until their arraignment, while the confiscated phones have been preserved as evidence. In a statement, the police cautioned criminal groups against abusing political events to prey on the public. The National Police Service emphasized that political rallies should not serve as a venue for criminals to harass or steal from members of the public, pledging to uphold law and order during all lawful public gatherings.",
