"account": "Turkey has transferred influential Kurdish militant leader Abdullah Ocalan to a newly constructed section of an island prison where he has been held since 1999, as part of efforts to resolve a 42-year conflict between the PKK and Turkish authorities, according to a senior Kurdish official. The move comes as part of a broader peace push to address the long-standing strife. Sancar, the Kurdish official, stated that Ocalan's relocation necessitates a faster pace in the peace process. He called for an acceleration in negotiations, emphasizing that the Turkish government should release its rigid stance. The transfer indicates an attempt to improve conditions for Ocalan, who remains a significant figure in advancing the peace process.",
"summary": "Ocalan has been imprisoned in a penitentiary on the island of Imrali in the Marmara Sea, since he was captured in 1999.",
