The directive, issued under the authority of Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu, aims to resolve concerns that have led to a strike by around 170 teaching and non-teaching faculty members. Dr Apaak appealed to the college staff to return to work while efforts were made to address their grievances in a social media post. GTEC has been tasked with engaging the affected staff, with a scheduled meeting for Tuesday, 3 November 2026.
