"summary": "Veronica Burton of the Golden State Valkyries has joined Chelsea Gray in an unprecedented WNBA history, becoming the second player to win both an Unrivaled league title and a WNBA championship in the same calendar year. Burton, who won the 2026 Unrivaled championship with Mist BC in March 2026, defeated Phantom BC in the final. This achievement follows her historic 2025 season, when she won the inaugural Unrivaled championship with Rose BC before claiming the 2025 WNBA title with the Las Vegas Aces. The Golden State Valkyries secured their first WNBA title in their second year of existence, with Gabby Williams leading the charge, scoring 30 points and recording a WNBA Finals record of 15 third-quarter points. Williams also contributed four steals and two blocks, showcasing her impact on both ends of the court.",
