"summary": "The Tampa Bay Rays have decided to exercise the club option on starting pitcher Drew Rasmussen for the 2027 MLB season, keeping him under contract for $20 million. This move comes shortly after the Rays' World Series defeat to the Milwaukee Brewers, with Rasmussen having played a significant role in the team's run to the Fall Classic. Rasmussen's decision to return is particularly notable, given the uncertainty surrounding his future after the World Series, and the Rays' historically smaller payroll compared to other major market teams.",
