"account": "Super Eagles forward Taiwo Awoniyi broke his goalless streak on Saturday as Coventry City secured a 3-1 victory over Sunderland at the Coventry Building Society Arena. The Nigerian striker scored his first goal of the 2026/27 Premier League campaign in the 37th minute, doubling the lead of Frank Lampard’s side. Coventry's Tatsuhiro Sakamoto put his team ahead in the 17th minute, and Jack Rudoni added a third goal in the 52nd minute to put the match beyond Sunderland. Enzo Le Fée reduced the deficit to 3-1 in the 67th minute with a penalty after a VAR review, but Sunderland's day ended in the 99th minute when defender Omar Alderete was sent off for a second yellow card, leaving them with 10 men. The result provided Coventry with three crucial points in their struggle for survival.
