"account": "A violent incident at Techiman Senior High School in Ghana's Bono East Region has been captured on video, showing two teachers allegedly assaulting a final-year student. The footage, which has caused widespread outrage, depicts the men stepping on the student's head and physically attacking him. Identical Mr Jerry Jones Owusu Bekoe and Mr Adusa Ameyaw have been named as the perpetrators. The incident has now been referred to the Ghana Education Service (GES) for an immediate investigation, following orders from the Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu. Dr Clement Abas Apaak, Deputy Minister for Education, confirmed the directive on Facebook. He stated that the incident will be thoroughly investigated and the appropriate sanctions will be applied to the involved parties. The GES emphasized that such misconduct will not be tolerated in Ghanaian schools, stressing their commitment to maintaining a safe environment for all stakeholders, including students, teachers, and non-teaching staff. The Ghana Education Service released a statement on October 31, 2026, confirming that the school's disciplinary committee held its initial hearing on the matter. The committee's findings are expected to be submitted to school management in the coming days, which will then inform appropriate action and decisions. The student involved, Seedorf Abeka Ampah, a final-year Agricultural Science student, has reportedly received medical treatment and is responding well to it. The GES has requested the public to exercise restraint while the investigation proceeds.",
