"account": "Square Enix has pushed back Final Fantasy 14's Evercold expansion to February 2, 2025, from a January launch date. Preorders for the add-on will begin on November 4, 2024, granting early access to the expansion on February 19, 2025. FF14 director Naoki Yoshi-P Yoshi-P expressed commitment to the January timeline but acknowledged the need for three additional weeks of development due to quality concerns. This delay, while not monumental, significantly impacts the ongoing updates of the live service MMO. Evercold marks the first new expansion for Final Fantasy 14 since the July 2024 release of Dawntrail. Despite its reputation for a positive community atmosphere, the game has faced challenges, particularly during the peak of the pandemic's impact on gaming. PCG's Mollie Taylor expressed cautious optimism for the changes Evercold promises, while a recent roguelike mode and a combat overhaul for a new class have excited fans.",
