"summary": "A spectacled caiman, which had been causing alarm in the River Vinalopó in Alicante, has been captured after months of searching. The reptile was discovered on October 16th by municipal workers clearing vegetation from the riverbed near a bridge in Sax and was subsequently captured by officers from the Sax Local Police. The caiman, identified as a protected species under CITES, will now be cared for and potentially rehabilitated at Río Safari in Elche. The origin of the caiman remains unclear, with investigators unsure whether it escaped from captivity or was deliberately abandoned. The incident serves as a reminder of the potential risks associated with releasing or abandoning exotic animals.",
