"summary": "London police arrested dozens of Palestine Action supporters on Saturday during protests in London and Edinburgh. According to Middle East Eye, the Metropolitan Police reported 48 arrests by mid-afternoon and indicated that officers were continuing to make arrests. The majority of these arrests were for expressing support for a proscribed organisation.\n\nThe demonstrations occurred days before the UK Supreme Court begins a two-day hearing on Wednesday regarding an appeal against the government's ban on the group. Al-Monitor reported that London police began detaining individuals shortly after hundreds gathered for a lunchtime mass action outside the US Embassy.\n\nMiddle East Eye reports that nearly 4,000 people have been arrested for allegedly showing support for Palestine Action since the British government proscribed the group under anti-terrorism laws in July 2025. During the London protests, individuals carried banners with slogans such as \"We are protesters, not terrorists\" and \"How is trying to stop a genocide a crime?\"",
