"summary": "Michael Carrick's position as Manchester United manager is under threat following a 2-0 Premier League defeat to Chelsea on Saturday. According to Punch Nigeria, the loss leaves the club winless in nine games. The defeat comes after Manchester United lost 3-0 to Bournemouth last weekend, a result that many expected would lead to Carrick being axed, according to Free Malaysia Today.\n\nThe match at Stamford Bridge saw Morgan Rogers score a solo goal in the 50th minute to give Chelsea the lead. Daily Post Nigeria reports that Manchester United thought they had gone ahead in the first half, but a goal by Bryan Mbeumo was ruled out for offside. Free Malaysia Today notes that Bruno Fernandes, who was recalled to the squad after being left out last week, missed a chance to score after a cross from Mbeumo.\n\nThe loss was compounded when Lisandro Martinez received two quickfire yellow cards, with the second resulting in a red card, according to Free Malaysia Today and Winnipeg Free Press. Daily Post Nigeria and Free Malaysia Today report that Cole Palmer converted the resulting penalty to secure the win for Chelsea. The defeat leaves Manchester United just one point above the relegation zone, and they could end the weekend in the bottom three, according to Free Malaysia Today and Daily Post Nigeria.",
