"account": "The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, has defended the monthly environmental sanitation exercise, emphasizing its importance for maintaining public awareness and ensuring cleanliness across the state. The exercise, which was recently conducted in Ikorodu, aimed to promote environmental cleanliness and foster healthy competition among communities. Despite criticism, Sanwo-Olu insisted that the awareness campaign is essential, likening it to safety reminders given to passengers on airplanes. She urged residents to maintain cleanliness habits beyond the monthly sanitation day, extending it to their homes, communities, and workplaces. The First Lady commended the high level of participation in Ikorodu, particularly the early involvement of children, environmental sanitation workers, and community stakeholders. She also hinted at the imminent announcement of the cleanest council in Lagos, promising to recognize the best-performing local government. Residents have reported improvements in waste collection, with waste collectors visiting more frequently. The Lagos State government plans to reward the cleanest council with cash prizes of up to N10m.",
