"account": "Lagos State First Lady, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, defended the monthly environmental sanitation exercise, stating it is necessary to maintain public awareness and ensure a clean environment across the state. The exercise, which she highlighted during a recent event in Ikorodu, Lagos, should not be considered unnecessary despite criticisms, as continuous sensitization is essential to making environmental cleanliness a daily habit among residents. Sanwo-Olu compared the exercise to safety announcements made to passengers boarding an aircraft, emphasizing that repeated reminders are necessary to reinforce responsible behavior. She urged residents to extend the sanitation culture beyond the last Saturday of every month, participating in keeping their homes, communities, schools, and markets clean. The First Lady expressed satisfaction with the level of participation in Ikorodu, praising children, sanitation workers, and community stakeholders for their early involvement. She urged Ikorodu residents to sustain the momentum and emerge as winners in an upcoming cleanliness competition among local governments in the state, emphasizing that all local governments will participate and that the cleanest environment in Lagos will be announced soon.",
